Michelle Jones-Gullory is the Executive Director of Gracious Hands for Humanity and the heart and soul behind the organization. Michelle has been donating her beauty services for over 10 years and has seen first-hand the impact that a fresh look has on the self-esteem and confidence of women and children. She is dedicated to expanding the reach of the organization by coordinating beauty sessions and the array of services that Gracious Hands for Humanity can deliver to those in need!
My Story
Meet me, Michelle Jones-Guillory, a woman whose journey embodies resilience and compassion. From a young age, I was captivated by the art of hairstyling. I was inspired by the loving care my parents put not only into their own hair, but also their clients. Despite facing adversity, including an unexpected pregnancy during my senior year of high school, I fought to pursue my passion and graduated from cosmetology school in 2006.
The road wasn't easy for me. As a single mother, I faced unimaginable challenges including homelessness. I remember looking in the mirror and hating what I saw. The experience left me feeling hopeless and stripped of my confidence. In my darkest moments, I fought to pull my own self image together, which gave me the strength and confidence to pursue my skills as a Cosmetologist. In 2012, I returned to cosmetology school where I later on obtained my teaching license.
Over the past decade, I have poured my heart into giving back to my community. I’ve volunteered my services to women and children in need of embracing their own self-image. My dedication to spreading beauty and hope is a testament to my resilience and unwavering spirit. My story serves as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always the opportunity to rise, to inspire, and to make a difference.

GHH's vision is to empower disadvantaged women and children to overcome obstacles, thrive personally and professionally, and contribute confidently to their communities. By using beauty services as a catalyst for transformation, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future.
